Part-Time Nurse

Weekend Shift: Friday - Sunday

Position Purpose:

Responsible for coordinating overall health and wellness services for residents in the Greentree Adolescent Program-Residence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures for planning, implementing, and monitoring of medical treatments for all resident.
  • Maintains and updates records of medical records for each resident, including results of developmental assessment and child immunization records.
  • Monitors and maintains records of medication administration to ensure compliance with doctors’ orders.
  • Provides training to staff in First Aid/CPR, medication administration and monitoring, infection control, and the prevention and/or management of health emergencies, in compliance with the state and local licensing requirements.
  • Conducts medical screening assessment on all new resident and ensured the community is free from communicable disease.
  • Coordinates and monitors all medical, dental and eye care appointments, ensuring compliance with all state licensing regulations.
  • Ensures correct administration of medication and monitoring of the results of treatment.
  • Functions as part of the multi-disciplinary treatment team in developing individual treatment plans and intervention strategies for working with residents.
  • Functions as a liaison between NCCF, staff psychiatrists, school health personnel, referring physicians and clinical staff.
  • Provides consultation to staff regarding health issues.
  • Obtains medical supplies, including prescriptions when indicated.
  • Maintains contact with healthcare providers and identifies additional providers based on resident needs.
  • Develops and facilitates the health education groups for resident.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Performs TB tests on employees and clients and maintains accurate records in employee files.

· Advocates for residents by presenting the healthcare needs of children and families to appropriate decision making bodies at the local and state level where indicated.

· Keeps abreast of current issues in the health field.

· Participates in community education activities as indicated.

Minimum Position Requirements:

· BSN or RN plus three (3) years of experience

· Direct patient care experience with children and adolescents, preferably in residential settings.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Commitment to and understanding of the residential treatment milieu and relevant teamwork orientation.

· Demonstration of cross-cultural competencies

· An attitude compatible with the goals and purposes of the National Center for Children and Families.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required y this job require close vision working with a computer monitor. While performing the duties of this job, employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. While performing the responsibilities of the employee’s job, these work environment characteristics are representative of the environment the Human Resources Director will encounter. Salary: $40 - $42.44 per Hour
