The Receptionist is the face and voice of the Rhode Island Avenue office building. The purpose of this role is to provide customer service and assistance to all employees, clients, and general public that come to the Rhode Island Avenue office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Greets and direct all visitors and employees of the Rhode Island Avenue office in a welcoming and professional demeanor
Ensures all visitors or employees are escorted or directed to the appropriate person upon entry at the Rhode Island Avenue office
Answers main office telephone and screen and direct all calls to the appropriate person
Provides general information and customer support to all callers and visitors upon entry
Maintains the vehicle sign in/sign out log and ensures NCCF employees have access to the agency vehicles
Maintains the log for scheduling and reserving meeting rooms at the Rhode Island Avenue office for employees
Sorts, copies, distributes and receives external and inter-agency mail and facsimiles.
Responds to inquiries from the general public and customers in a timely manner
Provides general administrative and clerical support to the Director of Youth and Birth Family Engagement as well as the Administrator of DC Family Services
Ensures all office supplies are in adequate supply as well as ensures all office equipment are in good working condition
Maintains an up-to-date directory of NCCF staff at all times
Ensures the upkeep and appearance of all meeting spaces and reception area at the Rhode Island Avenue office at all times
Provides oversight and general upkeep of the NCCF donation centers located at Rhode Island Avenue office and The Sterling STFH shelter located off Rhode Island Avenue NE
Provides oversight and general upkeep of the Rhode Island Avenue office Wellness Room for NCCF employees
Submits timely work orders and purchase orders relevant to the needs and requests of the Rhode Island Avenue office as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
A high school diploma is required.
Proven customer service experience.
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications.
Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
Basic Keyboard skills.

Must possess an attitude compatible with the goals and purposes of NCCF.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required y this job require close vision working with a computer monitor. While performing the duties of this job, employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
